A heavy snowstorm is approaching and you don't have a tent with you. You maybe are in a life or death situation, what do you do? Continue and risk frostbites or worse?
You also have the option to build a shelter and wait for the storm to settle down. So building a shelter it's a must-know skill. It should keep you warm and dry and protect you from animals.
There are a few fundamental steps in building a good shelter in extreme weather and situations.Did I get your attention?

One of the key elements of survival as we all know is Fire, without it, our chances drastically decrease. It's very important to master this key element. The only way you will succeed in making your fire as fast as possible is through practice.
In the winter season, everything tends to be wet so our mission is hardened.
Do not worry because we are here to teach you a few tips and tricks on how to get your fire started and even get it going until the morning even while you are sleeping tight in the shelter.

Once you are out there in the wild, for safety reasons it's really good to know your surroundings. If you are sleeping outdoors in an improvised shelter it's crucial to know what animals will wander near your camp.
It's really easy to mistake wolf track with one of a dog. So we conceived a module where you will learn about animals.
After this course, you will be familiar with footprints and animal behavior in the winter season.
We think these are must-have information and everybody should learn them before camping outdoors winter time.

A very great place to begin learning ice climbing is Bicaz Gorge.
With four waterfalls at your disposal, each with different levels of difficulty, it is a good starting point. Next to them, if you want to take your skills to the next level, you can even try dry tooling, which is a little harder than ice climbing.
This activity needs that you be in good shape, so if you want to join us, be sure to prepare before. The path to the waterfalls rewards you with delightful views as well, so don't forget your camera.

Hike to the most beloved Mountain Hut in the Carpathians.
The hut is situated at 1720 m, in the Northern part of the Bucegi mountain. It is located at the bottom of a glacier valley bearing the same name. The place itself has a unique charm. The hut is important because it's situated at the intersection of many hiking trails.
This means it a good place for mountaineers to rest and to reunite. People often play the guitar in the evening the result is an awesome night full of joy.
I assure you, you will fill in love with the place. The hut is open all year round, so the fun never stops.

The trail leading up to the hut does not present any difficulty. The path mainly takes you through the forest, passing through some nice meadows on the way. You intersect with various trails on the way.

It's a nice and relaxing walk, the duration is approximately 4-5 hours.

We invite you to a unique hike in Ceahlau mountains, to enjoy a spectacular landscape and an astonishing sunrise on Toaca peak.
This particular hike will take us in the Ceahlau Mountains where we will hike on a trail dressed in white by nature.
Here leaving the forest behind at 1750 m altitude we will find a nice cozy hut and in the morning a spectacular sunrise on a mountain full of myths and legends.

The pat will take us true forests near Fantanele Hut, and then under Toaca peak ending at Dochia hut where we will stay for one night. It's an awesome place where you will surely recharge your batteries. Next morning we will get up early to catch the sunrise, after that we will visit Ceahlau Monastery where we will find out how the monastery is closely related to the mountain. If the snow and conditions are good on our way home we will visit Duruitoarea waterfall, a nice charming place.

Rimetea it's considered one of the most beautiful and best-conserved villages in Romania.
In the year 1990, it was awarded the Europa Nostra prize, because it managed to restore the houses and annexed buildings. The path will take us on the roads of the old mines and then on the unbeaten path to the peak. From up there, the view is astonishing we will have the chance to admire the Szekely's Rock a place where the sun rises twice.

On our way back in the village, we will visit the Ethnographic Museum, for a better understanding of the cultural heritage of the place and why not taste the local cuisine.

Participation in a course of wilderness survival can be an exciting experience; that is why we offer training courses at the highest level.
We aim to train you in crucial skills that will save your life in real emergencies. The skills you learn in this course will guarantee you a fighting chance to escape from unfortunate situations, regardless of location environment or season.
We will focus on constructing a shelter, starting a fire in the most accessible way possible, how to collect water, hunt(set traps), and orientation.

Via Ferrata Casa Zmeului (The house of the Dragon) is located in Vadu Crisului Bihor county.

We believe it's one of the most famous routes in Romania. The Vadu Crisului Defile it's a magical place.
On the trail to the via Ferrata, we pass by an intriguing cave and a gorgeous waterfall.
We also pass by the Frontier Tower of Salt. It's a tower built in Medieval times around 1200, the objective was to oversee the salt shipment. Also, it was the border between the Transylvanian Principality and Ottoman Pashalic.
The hike to the route takes approximately 40 minutes with stops. The route length is 215 meters, with a vertical climb of 150 meters.
You start next to a small pound and gradually as you climb, first you will be above the forest, and then as you get even higher, the whole valley presents itself. The view it's breathtaking.

Come and explore the beauties that Bicaz Gorge has to offer. You will find it in the Nort-East part of Romania. Was excised by the waters of the Bicaz
River and now serves as a passageway between Transylvania and Moldova. Also within the gorge is Lacul Rosu (Red Lake) situated at 980 meters caused by a landslide in the 19th century.
Wild Ferenc was one of the pioneers of Transylvanian mountaineering, and the route presents a tribute to him.
The route is of medium difficulty with a length of 200 meters and a positive altitude gain of 173 meters.
The path has an interesting element: at one point, we will cross a suspended bridge. From the top, we have an astonishing view of the landscape and the lake. From the top, we will hike approximately 40 minutes back to the car.

If you are visiting Cluj Napoca and you would like to spend a day in the outdoors, Turzii Gorge is the place to go.
The canyon is nearly 3km long, with 300m high walls sculpted in limestone by the Hasdate river. The view is astonishing.
Here you can find the Sky Fly via Ferrata route. It is a medium difficulty route, with a length of 350m and a 200m positive altitude gain.
For easy access, we recommend the second entrance from Petrestii de Jos. To get to the base of the route takes us about half an hour. On our way, we will pass Turnul Ascutit (Sharp Tower) an iconic classic climbing route.
The route is unique because it traverses a cave (Hili's cave), and from this point, we have the best view over the gorge. Arriving at the top another pleasant surprise awaits us a panoramic view over Turda city.
After a well-deserved picnic and a brief history of the gorge, we will start our descent.

In the Fagaras Mountains, we can find the highest peak in Romania: Moldoveanu peak 2544 meters. The mountain range it's also known under the name of the Transylvanian Alps.
The trails to the summit are multiple, mainly depending on your free time. We are aware that time may be limited, so we choose the most beautiful and fastest route.

The adventure starts in Vistisoara, a little village found at the foot of the mountains. A part of the route that can be traveled by car is a forest road. After the forest road, the path takes us up the glacier valley. Reaching the limit of the forest, we can see Valea Vistei in its true beauty. An extraordinary landscape, offering the possibilities to climb alpine routes. The sunset will embrace us on the main ridge, where we will camp.
The next morning after a good breakfast, we start our ascent. First, we must climb to Vistea Peak (2527m), here we leave the main ridge and follow a new trail to reach Moldoveanu Peak.

This part is steep, so extra attention is needed. The view from the peak it's extraordinary. Don't miss your chance to take a selfie on Romania's highest point.

If you are visiting the Targu-Mures area, you must not miss the Mures Valley.
A spectacular valley that is a border between two volcanic mountain ranges: Gurghiu and Calimani mountains.

We will shift our focus to the Scaunu Domnului (Gods Chair) Natural Reservation. It is a chair shaped peak, and as local legends say that God rested hereafter, he created the surrounding beautiful mountain ranges, the valley, the villages, and the Mures river.
The hike starts from a village called Galaoia.
The trail is friendly and easily accessible all year round, even by kids. We begin by passing through a pasture, after which the path takes us through beech and coniferous forest into a beautiful meadow. From this meadow, we have an excellent view of the peak.

Once arrived there, the view over the wilderness of the mountain and the Mures Valley rewards the effort.
Some say this place is a real heaven on earth for adventure seekers, as they can discover hidden astonishing natural sights.

Kings Rock it's one of the well known and most visited National Parks in Romania.
It differentiates itself from the other massifs with its distinct mountain ridge, with an impressive length of 25 kilometers. At the base of the mountain, we can observe the villages scattered around the hills, picturesque sight.
The Tour of Kings Rock it's a truly unique experience. A long, challenging, and complex route intended only for the very well prepared. The track is not challenging just because it's distance but also has sections where we will push the bike. The most attractive and beautiful part is the second half.
Here we will pass trough waste pastures, meadows full of beautiful flowers. We pass through villages also, here we have the opportunity to chat with the locals and try out some local dishes. A challenging track but with astonishing views.

Explore the Bucegi mountain on two wheels. They can be found in the center of Romania. Reaching higher elevation, we reach the Bucegi Plateau, where the wind and rain sculpted rocks into spectacular figures such as the Sphinx and Babele. Here also we can find the Bucegi Natural Park, which was declared a protected area. It represents a mountainous area with caves, canyons, ridges, valleys, waterfalls, pastures, and forests that shelter a great variety of fauna.
We plan a beautiful, mixed and challenging route, which covers a large part of the Bucegi Massif, reaching Omu peak the highest elevation in the massif. The starting point will be Busteni. From the plateau, we head to Saua Strunga and from here Bran. In Bran, we can visit the castle or drink a refreshing lemonade. Afterward, by forest road, we will head back to Busteni.
We will need a whole day to finish this trail because of its length and difficulty. So if you like to bike, and you are in good shape you can't miss this trip.

Discover Brasov and the surrounding areas by bike. In close vicinity is Masivul Postovaru, a beautiful mountain. The highest altitude in the massif is 1799 meters, the Postovaru Peak. Here are the best ski resorts in the country. In the summer, they are perfect for hiking and biking.
We plan to start from the old city of Brasov and bike on the old road to Poiana Brasov afterward we will embark on a forest road.
On this road, we will pass some astonishing meadows and small mountain passes. From Saua Tampa (highest point of our route), we will descend back to the old city.
Here we will drink fresh lemonade and share stories and experiences.

Traveling to Bicaz Gorge, we will find this unique rock formation called The Altar Stone. The crossing of the Bicaz Gorges impresses every tourist and mountaineer; through the walls that rise to the sky, stunning serpentines, and spectacular landscapes. But there is a rock formation that catches everyone's attention: The Altar Stone. It's imposing by its height, shape, and beauty. We can find the gorge in the North-East part of the country. It serves as a passageway between Transylvania and Moldova.
To summit, we will climb on the eastern ridge. The climb is six pitches long. From the top, you have the best view of the surroundings and a particular perspective over the gorge.
We recommend climbing it in the autumn; the view is astonishing with colorful leaves.

Do you want to try something different from sport climbing? Join us in the Fagaras mountain to traverse the Vartopel-Arpasel ridge. It is the most beautiful part of the main ridge and easily accessible also. The fastest way to begin your climb is through the Window of the Dragons (Fereastra Zmeilor).
The marked trail bypasses the ridge: it's crossing can be made only with climbing equipment; the risk of exposure it's big.
You can cross: from West to Est and from Est to West depends on climbing skill. The route is demanding and sustained, often the exposure is high; the ridge is very sharp and narrow bordered by steep slopes.
Probably, the most impressive and attractive point is the Vârtopel Tower. From here, you can admire the raw wilderness of the northern side of the ridge.
Good physical shape is needed to complete the traverse; basic knowledge of climbing it's also required.

The Turzii Gorge it's a climbing paradise. It's the place where sport climbing has its roots in Romania. Trough erosion of the limestone, the gorge takes birth with walls as high as 300 meters.
It's also a Natural Reserve with more than 1000 species of plants and animals living here. If you prefer sport climbing or multi-pitch, here you will find it all. The gorge has a large variety of routes: high walls, towers, a cave with overhanging routes, and for the beginners, we have a Via Ferrata route. For all things to be perfect, we recommend booking a guide, for safety reasons and to get a better understanding of the place.
